Private Dentist Near Me

Finding a dentist that you can trust who has the skills and facilities to take care of all aspects of your dental care can be tough, but here at Revitalise Dental, we feel like we offer all of that and more. We’re one of the most well-respected private dentists in Cornwall, offering a unique experience within a state-of-the-art facility. So, if you’re looking for your forever dentist, you’re in good hands with us.

What to look for in a private dentist near me?

Your smile is important, and it’s also as unique as you are, so finding a dentist who truly gets that is important. But finding a dentist that offers everything you could need, for every stage of your life can be difficult, and if you’re after a specific type of treatment, an NHS dentist might not always cut it.

Here at Revitalise Dental, we do things a little differently. Our approach to all things dentistry is completely bespoke, which means that whether you’re having a general check-up or a specific treatment, you can be confident that you and your needs will be at the heart of everything. We specialise in using industry-leading techniques, which aim to reduce discomfort and recovery time, and often aren’t available on the NHS. Not only that, but we also benefit from having an on-site lab, so we can ensure everything is of the highest standards of quality, and back with you in record time.

If you’re wondering what to look for when choosing a private dentist in your area, you should consider the following aspects:

  • Facilities
  • Affordability
  • Treatments available
  • Personalisation

And we’re proud to say we excel in all of these crucial areas. We have worked hard to make our services as accessible as possible, and offer a range of finance schemes as well so that no matter what your financial situation may be, you can still access the treatment you need with us. So, if you’re thinking, “all of the private dentists near me are out of my budget”, we’re confident we can help.

Our unique approach to private dentistry

Because we know that no two smiles are the same, we don’t offer a blanket approach to dentistry. Instead, we have a unique 3-step approach, that allows us to truly understand your goals, and your medical history and helps us to tailor an action plan around those things. Our consultations are extremely detailed and thorough and help us to identify any hidden issues before they become problematic, ensuring your mouth is as healthy as it can be before moving on to specialist treatments. We’re also proud to offer some of the most attentive aftercare around, helping us to ensure your treatment has been successful, and that no further issues have occurred since we last saw you.

It is our attention to detail, coupled with our unique, home-away-from-home environment that sets us apart and helps us be one of the most sought-after private dentists in the Cornwall area. So, if you’re looking for a dentist near you who you can rely on, you won’t be disappointed.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I visit the dentist?

Visiting your dentist regularly is crucial to maintaining good oral health. At Revitalise we would like to see you every 6 to 12 months for a routine general dentistry check-up. However, every patient is different and a treatment plan unique to you will be created at your initial consultation.

Why should I choose private dentistry over NHS services

As a private dentist, we have more time to spend with our patients whilst reducing waiting times. The additional time we have with our patients allows us to educate the patient on the most effective and efficient ways they can improve their oral health. Through education, we aim to help our patients maintain their smile for as long as possible with simple things they can do themselves at home. An extremely important part of our general dentistry service.

With reduced waiting times we can offer you the help you need before your symptoms get worse or untreatable. General dentistry treatments such as fillings are best treated as soon as possible to prevent further decay and damage to the tooth. We are also able to offer composite fillings also known as ‘tooth-coloured’ fillings, which are usually not available on the NHS. Many patients are often concerned with noticeable silver in their mouth with amalgam fillings.

Should I have my wisdom teeth removed if they don't hurt?

Sometimes wisdom teeth might need to be removed even if they are not currently causing any pain. This is usually recommended when they grow in at an unusual angle or not have enough room to break through your gums due to overcrowding. Sometimes, wisdom teeth can affect the adjacent teeth which can result in the loss of both these teeth.

If your wisdom teeth are not causing any pain, and we do not identify that they may cause problems in the future, there will be no need to remove them. However, many people will go their whole lives without experiencing any problems with their wisdom teeth. During your general dentistry check up we will check for signs that your wisdom teeth might cause problems later in life.

My teeth do not hurt, should I still see a general dentist?

A very common misconception is that if you are not in pain, there is no need to see the dentist. Although pain is a good indicator that something is going wrong, unfortunately in dental terms, most of the time pain means that it is too late. General dentistry can prevent any disease or treat it before it costs you your tooth.
During an examination, the dentist looks for signs of cancer or other diseases by examining your tongue, throat, face, head, and neck. A very important examination to miss out on!
Visiting the dentist at the recommended intervals tailored to you is important to ensure you are truly healthy, and the work you do to maintain your oral health is on track!

Does it hurt to have a tooth removed?

Nobody wants to have their tooth removed. Teeth are important functional and aesthetic parts of your body. A lot of people worry that tooth removal will hurt.
Here at Revitalise, we make sure that any teeth to be removed are properly and fully numb before we remove them. This makes tooth removals virtually painless.
It is true, you may experience some discomfort after the treatment as your body will go through a phase of inflammation which is actually the first phase of healing. We give you advice on pain relief to help you manage this.
It can be uncomfortable having a tooth removed, however, using a local anaesthetic during the procedure you will not feel any pain. Once the anaesthetic has worn off it is common to feel some mild pain and soreness which can easily be treated with over the counter painkillers such as paracetamol and ibuprofen. This pain should clear up within 24 hours.

Do you offer emergency appointments?

We understand that tooth pain or discomfort can sneak up on you, and when it does it affects your day to day life. We offer emergency appointments to all of our registered patients who need to see a dentist at short notice. Any necessary prescriptions are included as part of your emergency treatment.

What our Clients say

“The minute I met Martin, I just knew he was so calm and relaxing. So then we had a discussion and Martin said what he could do and it had to be what our pocket could afford as well and we went ahead with it. The experience I had at this dentist was unbelievable, it was a journey I loved every minute of.”

“There’s always smiling, handshakes, hugs and plenty of tea and coffee. They looked after my husband who was there for the day. They do the sedation and Hayley looked after me. Obviously I was unaware of exactly what they were doing, but they always make you feel so comfortable. Although you’re nervous, I don’t think I could’ve gone and got the same treatment anywhere else.”
