Why Choose Revitalise Dental Centre in Cornwall?

Two dentists can offer you exactly the same treatment — and you can get two completely different results.

Same treatment name. Same number of teeth. It might even sound like the same plan.

So what are you actually paying for when you choose one dental practice over another?

Here’s the bit that doesn’t always appear on the price list.

The quality of your dentistry isn’t determined simply by whether something is called a crown, an implant, Invisalign, composite bonding or a veneer.

It comes down to who is planning it, who’s carrying it out, the techniques and materials they use, the technology behind them — and how much care goes into the details you may never even see.

Hi, I’m Dr Alkisti Vousvouni. I’m an award-winning dentist, I’ve been in dentistry for 21 years, and I’m the Principal Dentist and owner of Revitalise Dental Centre.

When I took over Revitalise and brought the practice back into independent ownership, I wasn’t looking to change what was already being done exceptionally well. The team is still made up of our highly experienced clinicians, the same commitment to excellent clinical standards and the same dedication to providing outstanding dentistry here in Cornwall.

What I wanted to add was something more personal.

The freedom to shape every part of the patient experience around the people we care for — from how you’re welcomed and how much time we take to listen, to the technology we invest in, the environment we’ve created and the way your treatment is planned.

For me, independent dentistry means being able to make those decisions personally, with our patients and our team at the heart of them.

So today, Revitalise combines the clinical excellence it has long been known for with something distinctly our own: exceptional dentistry, personally delivered.

And that brings us back to the question: what are you actually paying for when you choose a dental practice?

At Revitalise, the answer is much bigger than the treatment itself.

You’re investing in the experience behind it, the planning before it, the materials within it, the craftsmanship that creates it, and the people who look after you throughout it.

Here’s what that means in practice.

Expertise matters

We are incredibly fortunate that here in Cornwall we have clinicians who are internationally recognised for their work and regularly teach their techniques to other dentists.

Our team brings together clinicians with advanced expertise and interests across restorative and cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, dental implants, periodontal care and complex dental rehabilitation.

That becomes particularly important when a case isn’t straightforward.

Instead of looking at one tooth or one problem in isolation, we can bring different clinicians together and consider your mouth as a whole.

For you, that means your treatment isn’t simply about fixing today’s problem.

We want to understand why it happened, what your options are and how we can help protect your teeth for the future.

The best treatment isn’t always the biggest treatment

We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all dentistry.

And we certainly don’t believe that more dentistry automatically means better dentistry.

Sometimes the right answer is a complex rehabilitation. Sometimes it’s moving teeth before restoring them. Sometimes it’s replacing something that’s failing.

And sometimes the best decision is to do very little at all.

Our philosophy is to preserve healthy natural tooth structure wherever possible.

Take cosmetic dentistry.

We would never want to unnecessarily remove healthy tooth structure simply to create a cosmetic result.

If moving your teeth slightly with orthodontics or clear aligners means we can subsequently use thinner, more conservative veneers, we’ll discuss that.

If composite bonding can achieve what you want without preparing the tooth, we’ll discuss that.

And if we don’t think you need treatment at all, we’ll tell you that too.

Great dentistry isn’t about doing the most dentistry. It’s about doing the right dentistry, exceptionally well.

Does price matter?

Of course it does.

Dental treatment can represent a significant investment, and you deserve to understand what you’re receiving in return.

We can’t comment on the approach taken by other practices, but we know what matters to us: clinical expertise, exceptional technique and uncompromising quality.

We invest in the best technology, materials and evidence-based techniques modern dentistry has to offer.

But importantly, we combine those things with experienced clinicians who understand how and when to use them.

Our cases are carefully planned and executed with precision and artistry, with the aim of creating dentistry that looks beautiful, functions properly and stands the test of time.

That’s what we mean by getting the best return from your investment.

Technology is incredible. But it doesn’t replace experience.

Modern dentistry gives us tools that dentists could only have dreamed about a generation ago.

Digital scanning, 3D imaging, digital smile design and sophisticated treatment-planning technology can help us see more, plan more accurately and communicate what’s possible before treatment begins.

We invest heavily in technology where we believe it can improve your experience or the predictability of your treatment.

But there’s something important we don’t want patients to forget:

Technology is only a tool.

Owning an expensive camera doesn’t automatically make someone a great photographer.

Dentistry is much the same.

The difference comes from the knowledge, judgement and experience of the person using the technology.

And then, for some treatments, another pair of incredibly skilled hands becomes involved.

Our dental laboratory is just across the way

This is one of my favourite things about Revitalise.

We have our own on-site dental laboratory, Dental Precision Laboratory, here in St Agnes.

Our dentists and dental technicians can work together when planning complex restorative, implant and cosmetic cases.

For treatments such as crowns, bridges, veneers, dentures and implant restorations, that relationship can be invaluable.

Our technicians can be directly involved in treatment planning, shade selection and smile design. We know which materials are being used and can monitor quality throughout the process.

Digital technology gives us extraordinary precision.

Our technicians give us something technology can’t replace: craftsmanship.

Some of the best dentistry is created when science, technology and artistry come together.

And ours happens right here.

Then there’s something that has nothing to do with teeth.

How you feel when you walk through our door

You can have the most technologically advanced dental practice in the world, but if you’re frightened to walk into it, we’ve failed somewhere.

That’s why we’ve worked just as hard on the experience around your dentistry.

You’ll be welcomed by a friendly team into a relaxed, private and comfortable environment.

We take time to listen. We explain. We don’t judge.

And we don’t expect everyone to feel comfortable at the dentist simply because we work in one every day.

If you haven’t visited a dentist for years, that’s okay. If you’ve had a difficult experience previously, tell us. If you’re embarrassed about your teeth, you won’t be the first person who has felt that way.

And if you’re particularly nervous, we can adapt your appointments and discuss our anxiety-friendly pathways and additional support.

Where calm meets care isn’t simply a tagline for us. It’s how we want dentistry to feel.

Even getting here should be easy

We wanted to remove as many of the little stresses surrounding a dental appointment as possible.

Revitalise Dental Centre is in St Agnes, only around five minutes from the A30, making us easily accessible from across Cornwall.

And when you arrive?

There’s unlimited, free, level parking.

No parking meters. No circling the block looking for a space. And no worrying that your parking ticket is about to expire while you’re halfway through an appointment.

Our practice also benefits from flat, accessible flooring, making access easier for patients with reduced mobility, wheelchairs and pushchairs.

They sound like small details.

Until you’re the person who needs them.

Private dentistry should feel personal

Whether you’re coming in because something hurts, you’re embarrassed about your teeth, you’re considering a significant smile transformation or you simply want to stay healthy, these are personal conversations.

So we want your dentistry to feel personal too.

You’re not simply the next name on an appointment list.

We want to know what matters to you.

  • What are you worried about?
  • What would you like to change?
  • What would you not like to change?
  • How quickly do you want to move?
  • And what does a successful outcome actually look like to you?

Only then can we build the right plan.

So, why choose Revitalise?

Remember the question we started with?

If two dentists can apparently offer the same treatment, what are you actually paying for?

Now you know our answer.

You’re not simply paying for a filling, a crown, an implant, straight teeth or a new smile.

You’re choosing the experience of the clinician making the decisions. The time spent planning before treatment begins. The quality of the materials that become part of your mouth. The technology supporting those decisions. The technicians and craftsmanship behind your restorations. The willingness to choose a more conservative option when that’s better for your teeth. The ability to bring different areas of dental expertise together when your case needs it. And the people who welcome you, reassure you and look after you throughout the process.

That’s why we’ve brought all of those things together here in St Agnes.

Because we don’t believe people in Cornwall should have to travel to London, Bristol or further afield to access exceptional dentistry.

World-class dentistry should be available right here, on your doorstep.

And when you walk through ours, we want you to feel that you’re somewhere that genuinely cares about doing things properly.

Come and meet us

You don’t need to know what treatment you need before you contact us.

That’s our job.

Tell us what’s bothering you, what you’d like to achieve or simply that it’s been a while since you’ve seen a dentist.

We’ll start there.
