What is cosmetic dentistry?

Cosmetic Dentistry

People who want to ‘improve their smile’ can achieve this through cosmetic dentistry: cosmetic dentistry focuses on the appearance of your teeth, whilst ensuring their long-term health.

Here at Revitalise Dental Care we offer multiple cosmetic treatments such as direct bonding, crowns, veneers and teeth whitening: Jason is our lead dentist for cosmetic treatment and advanced adhesive dentistry, with a special interest in modern tooth-coloured bonding techniques. Jason works very closely with our team who offer dental implants, orthodontics and hygiene treatments.

Cosmetic Services We Offer

Here at Revitalise we offer multiple cosmetic services: but why should you choose us? With Jason Smithson, we have one of the most in-demand dentists in the world to treat you.

Direct Bonding

If you have a tooth that is broken composite resin can be an ideal solution to repair it: restoring the function, shape and appearance, composite resin can be bonded seamlessly to your natural enamel, often without any drilling of the remaining tooth.

The bonding process is quite simple: Jason will select composite that exactly matches the colour of your teeth; he often custom mixes multiple shades to gain a perfect result. Your natural tooth will then be primed and coated with a liquid (similar to a glue) to prepare the tooth for bonding. The composite resin is then built up in multiple layers to replicate the desired shape and colour. The tooth and composite resin are then artistically shaped to bring the restoration to life with natural life-like textures.

Finally the composite will be hardened using an ultraviolet light meaning you can eat with them immediately. If necessary, the composite resin might be further contoured once hardened to ensure it is indistinguishable from a natural tooth.

Veneers / Crowns

If you are hoping to change the colour or orientation of your teeth, veneers and crowns can make this possible. A veneer uses a thin shell of ceramic that is bonded to the front of your teeth. Think about how a false fingernail sits on top of the natural nail: It’s a similar idea.
Crowns cover the whole surface of the tooth: so support the natural tooth foundation: this is more appropriate for saving heavily broken down teeth.

A strong adhesive will be used to bond the ceramic shell of the veneer or crown to your natural teeth: this gives a long-term durable result, which looks natural, life-like and beautiful.
