Are you unhappy with the appearance of your teeth?
Are they broken, chipped, discoloured, gappy, wonky or even missing?
It’s no secret that the state of your smile can put a serious damper on your self-esteem, but no one should be embarrassed about their teeth.
Here at Revitalise Dental Centre, we believe everyone deserves a smile that they are confident sharing with the world.
In recent years, there have been huge advances in cosmetic dentistry, and it is no longer the preserve of Hollywood A-Listers and the super-wealthy.
We are pleased to offer a comprehensive range of affordable cosmetic dental treatments in Cornwall, which can be tailored to suit your individual needs.
What is cosmetic dentistry?
Unlike general dentistry, cosmetic services are geared towards improving the appearance of your teeth, rather than just patching them up. Think of it like a makeover for your teeth.
Although the primary goal is to improve the appearance of your smile, many cosmetic dental treatments also improve the overall health and durability of your teeth.
Cosmetic dentistry can be as simple as replacing one filling on a front tooth or something more complex, like reconstructing your whole smile. Let’s see what issues cosmetic dentistry can fix…
The main cosmetic procedures we offer at Revitalise include:

Cosmetic dentistry can sometimes be a lengthy process, due to the time spent in the dental laboratory and postage times.
Here at Revitalise, we’re able to significantly reduce the length of your treatment time with our onsite state-of-the-art laboratory.
Unlike many dental practices, we do not need to outsource our treatments to third parties. Not only does this mean your treatment can be achieved faster, but also that quality and consistency can be assured.

No. This is a common misconception, however dental veneers work to do the opposite. They can enhance the look of the natural tooth, whilst protecting any previous exposure, giving you the confidence to eat, socialise and smile like you deserve.
When you come to us for a dental crown, we will start by preparing the effected tooth, which will ensure that your crown fits snuggly and stays in place. We will then be able to take an impression of your teeth, allowing us to create a perfectly bespoke covering for the damaged tooth or teeth.
We can then create your crown, using the highest quality materials for an end result that lasts you for years to come. The four main types of dental crown include:
The end result will be a smile that feels comfortable and natural and looks and performs fantastically.
If your teeth are severely discoloured, you may find that whitening toothpastes aren’t effective enough. The good news is that our teeth whitening solutions can yield fantastic results, even if you suffer from very yellow teeth.
If your teeth are very discoloured, we might recommend Boutique Whitening, which is completely safe and incredibly effective.
Our tooth enamel is one of the strongest tissues in our bodies, but it can still be damaged by a number of everyday items and bad habits which can cause breaks and chips in our teeth’s structure. Also, teeth with decay beneath the service are more susceptible to breaks due to a weakened internal structure.
Let’s take a look at some of the most common source of chips and breaks:
Where this type of damage has occurred, Direct Resin Bonding can be incredibly effective, not only repairing damage but also improving the shape of the tooth in question.
Direct resin bonding involves in application of Dental Composite Resin (a special type of tooth coloured plastic) to the teeth. This is used to repair decayed, damaged or discoloured teeth or to improve the shape, which are perhaps too small, short or close gaps between teeth. Often we just add to the teeth and no drilling or injections are required. It is useful for minor-moderate corrections of dental aesthetic problems.
At Revitalise Dental we have special expertise in bonding: Dr Smithson pioneered this technique in the UK over 20 years ago and teaches this topic Internationally.
What is Involved?
At your initial consultation, the dentist will assess your general dental health to ensure that the gums and nerves inside the teeth are healthy.
For many cases, models of the teeth are taken using our digital scanner; we then carry out a computer mock-up of the anticipated final result so you can see the likely outcome prior to committing to treatment. We then use cutting edge 3D printing to print a life-size plastic model of your teeth: a custom-made plastic mould is then made which allows us to accurately transfer the shape of the computer designed teeth to your mouth. The resin is set with a specialised ultra-violet light and precision polished so that it is indistinguishable from natural teeth.
At a second appointment, the dentist will artistically bond composite resin to your teeth to emulate our agreed design. Often only one appointment is required.
