Types of dentures and cost

Dentures are one of the most popular tooth replacement treatments.

Whether your tooth loss is down to genetics, a result of injury or an effect of periodontal (gum) disease, they’re a trusted and effective way to replace missing teeth.

By improving your speech and making eating more comfortable, dentures offer a chance for you to regain your smile confidence once and for all and also help to keep any remaining healthy teeth in place.

Dentures have come a long way, and there are many different types nowadays to suit all different types of lifestyles – but what are they?

In this article, our experts walk you through the different types of dentures and the cost to help you decide which treatment is best for you!

Fixed implant retained dentures

Fixed implant retained dentures provide much more comfort and stability than traditional removable dentures do.

During the procedure, we attach a hand-crafted denture – made in our onsite laboratory – to new or existing dental implants to better support the structure of your mouth and gums and your overall oral health.

You don’t have to worry about your dentures moving around whilst eating, chatting with colleagues or laughing with friends, and you can show off the most natural-looking smile with confidence.

Because they’re secured with dental implants, retained dentures tend to be on the more expensive side, and can cost anywhere between £4,000-£14,000 depending on how many implants you need.

Metal and acrylic dentures

Metal and acrylic dentures are two of the most hardwearing solutions for patients suffering from tooth loss.

Not only do they help restore a beautiful, fully functional smile, but they also last much longer than regular dentures and are much more comfortable to wear.

Acrylic dentures are much more budget-friendly, whilst metal dentures are pricier as they provide much more strength and stability and are much more time-consuming to make and fit.

The cost of acrylic dentures at our private dental clinic starts at just £950 per set (upper or lower ), and metal alternatives can cost up to £1,500.

Partial and full dentures

For patients considering a denture to replace a single missing tooth or a complete denture to replace one or both sets of teeth (upper and/or lower), partial and full dentures are more than ideal.

Both full and partial dentures can be made from a variety of materials and provide a stable replacement for the most natural-looking and stunning smile.

Prices vary between £1,350-£2,250 and depend on how many dentures you need. At Revitalise, you have the option to choose between 1-3, 4-8 and 9-14 partial dentures.
